How do I send a private message to a user?
- Click on that user's name.
- Type your message.
- Press ENTER.
- When you're done sending private messages, uncheck the Send private message box.

Yes. Just mouse over a message.
What should I do if someone is spamming or abusing?
- Click the spammer's name.
- Click the BAN link next to their name.
- The spammer will be removed from your view and reported.
What browsers does yaplet support?
We develop and test for Firefox 1.0+, Safari, IE6 and IE7. We have reports that yaplet works on the Opera Mini mobile phone browser. We plan to add explicit support for Opera in the future.
How can I identify imposters?
Yaplet believes in "freedom first," and this means we let users
choose any name they want, even if someone else is using it. To
figure out if someone is an imposter:
- Click on the suspected imposter's name.
- Everything said by that user (under any name) will be in black.
- Everything said by other users will be gray.
- Now you can tell the original user and the imposter apart.
How do I enter the conversation on the page I'm viewing?
- Install the bookmarklet.
- While at any page, click the yaplet bookmark.
- Now you're in the yaplet session for that page.
How does yaplet make money?
We don't. And, we will never charge a fee to chat on yaplet.
Money is not our concern right now, but the user experience is! So, let
us know if you have ideas!
Will yaplet work without cookies?
The official answer: "Sort of."
Yaplet will "work" without cookies, but some features won't
function as well or at all.
What is yaplet ettiquete?
At yaplet, we err on the side of freedom and privacy.
You can choose any name you want.
We don't announce when you enter or leave.
Your level of visibility and anonymity is up to you.
Until you say something in the channel, you will not show up in the user list, although you will be counted in the number of users.
This means the community has to play nice for things to work.
For happier yapleting, we have some recommendations:
- If you're an active participant, say goodbye when you leave.
- Don't send too many lines at once.
- Don't spam.
